Character
Fulton is a Sears, Roebuck & Co. trade name under which catalogued tools were sold through the mail-order system. Fulton No. 2 planes were manufactured by Sargent & Company (1905–1935) or Miller Falls Company (from circa 1925). Sears marketed Fulton as an accessible alternative to Stanley.
Distributor branding was standard practice in the American tool industry — the actual manufacturer is hidden behind the retailer's trade name. Fulton planes reflect the mail-order tool selling model of the turn of the twentieth century.
Construction
Bailey-pattern cast iron body manufactured by Sargent or Miller Falls. Actual maker attribution depends on details: Sargent-made examples show a characteristic frog shape and lateral adjuster, Miller Falls-made examples have a different profile. The "Fulton" mark appears on the cap lever or iron.
Dating
The Sears Fulton catalogue covers approximately 1905–1950. The seller's description of "Antique" suggests a pre-war example — likely Sargent-made (1905–1935).

This page documents the Fulton No. 2 as held in the collection. Manufacturer attribution (Sargent or Miller Falls) and exact variant await physical verification.
